    Hi,

Love these pics – a real history. Can I get these in a book? Are these just odd pictures that you have? Would love to get something like this.

    Look forward to your response.

    thanks,

    Christine

Thank you for your comments Christine. Photography was, and is, a number 1 hobby of mine and when I was working in Carriacou I took the opportunity to record the things I saw. I stored all the negatives when I got home and recently digitized them all. I realised that many of them had never been printed; hence the blog. I have put them into sections and linked them to short articles using my diaries as source material. I’m glad you find them interesting. I have thought of creating a book and have made some initial enquiries about how to go about the process. I’m still not sure how I can do it or what it would cost to print. More importantly, I’m not sure what the demand for such a book might be. If there are others, like you, who would want such a book then I would seriously consider writing it and looking for a publisher. Early days, as I say, but nontheless a worthy goal I think. Would you agree? I appreciate your thoughts and comments. Keep ’em coming. Regards, Bill

I recently watched Alexis Andrews film “Vanishing Sail” recording the build of Exodus by Alwyn Enoe at Windward, Carriacou. Zepherine and Mermaid get a too brief mention and there is a short clip of Capt. John Smith with Mermaid.
I own “Sweetheart” another of Zepherine’s wonderful creations. Sadly I never met Zepherine but would’ve to have a decent photo of him to put with the archive I have of “Sweetheart”. We race her every year and she is very much loved in her adopted island of Antigua.
I do hope you go ahead and publish your book. There’s plenty of demand and interest. Can I help?

      Hi Charles,
Thank you for your comment. I am hoping to get an opportunity to see Alex’s film when it finally arrives on these shores. Reports suggest it is an excellent piece of work. If you wish I can find a photo of Zeph for you. I think the best thing to do is send you an email and we can work out what you want and how to send it. I have been asked on a few occasions about a book. Up to now I’ve put the idea on the back burner but I do keep it in mind.
